What do we teach?
Here is a breakdown of what to expect in each book:
Book One (Yellow, FREE)
Introducing notes C-A, establishing basic technique and introducing notation
Book Two (Purple, £3.50)
Extending notes across the octave, with more rhythmically challenging notation. Some chords introduced for the left hand
Book Three (Orange, £3.50)
More emphasis on chords for the left hand and use of major and minor constructions. Longer pieces with optional extra tunes
Book Four (Red, £3.50)
A chance to combine and develop all skills learnt in books 1-3. New chords and the introduction of scales
Book Five (Cream, £3.50)
Extending general repertoire and improving hands together co-ordination.
Examination (optional)
Trinity Initial exam or internal Funky Monkey exam can now be taken, and children are encouraged to graduate after the first grade in order to develop skills on another instrument
